what a tragedy that all that fullness of life is erased by concrete - like it is in UK towns too - and then they wonder why people are disconnected from their lives - one of the reasons i love africa so much is the animals are everywhere = but not in the cities of course - not any more at least ,
Yeah, it was common for us to have animals run into our space and vice versa without thinking of each other as enemies. we were used to seeing monkeys (still in certain areas in delhi)-- cows, dogs, birds. heard that during covid they started to see peacocks, coz it was so quiet. My favorite memory from botswana is seeing Giraffes cross the road when we were on our way to zimbabwe via car. but city folks do not understand that. There is a 400 yr old observatory in Delhi. Idiots constructed high buildings around it and now it is simply a decorative coz buildings block hte sun. Thanks for reading Sylvia.
