There are Stories Without Conflict

Stories with a happy beginning, glorious middle and an ecstatic ending!

Maybe it does not happen to you or I, maybe it never happened to anyone we know, but I truly believe there are stories of real people with blessed lives.

They came with fists full of never exhausting stardust in their hands, fountain of positivity in their heart and a fine spray of misty pink coloured hope that hovers around their eyes.

So they see the world pink and healthy, their hearts are always dancing, and there is an everlasting love-song on their lips.

May be we don’t know them, but there are life stories without conflict.

May be we don’t know them because ‘news’ is usually unhappy news.

May be we have lost our appetite for simple and beautiful because we have been trained to uphold complex, complicated, unresolved as the epitome of a life well lived. For that is what ‘stories are about’. Conflict. There are no stories without a conflict.

But I am telling you, there are happy life stories abound and many around us.

May be we can participate in someone’s life to contribute a piece so their becomes a happy one.

May be, it will be hard because we are caught up in our own life and struggles.

So may be, we can begin with reflecting how rich our breath is and how powerful we are when it comes to making a difference.

May be we can open our fists and find stars of hope, may be we can start with rubbing our hands and then blowing the dust around us.

I am telling you, I have this knowing feeling that there are stories of happiness in and around us.

We can start with the ones that are ours.

A beating heart, an ability to empathise, the need to care and a desire to belong.

Let me whisper one more truth, that if you sit in your living room, close your eyes and send the dust of love and protection towards people, it reaches them.

That is how powerful you and I are.

Knowing that, is a recognition that stories can be magical, without conflict, and without plots.

I truly believe there are stories of real people with blessed lives.

Those people heal the world.
